MILLERWHITE PR RECOGNIZED AMONG BEST IN
NATIONAL CONTEST: State’s Only Award Recipient Called
“Superb” in Scoring Among the Top U.S. Campaigns
of 2005
January 19, 2006
Among nearly 500 national and international
competitors, MillerWhite Integrated Marketing has received
the 2005 BRONZE Magellan Award for Corporate Organizational
Communications awarded by the League of American Communications
Professionals (LACP) - San Diego, CA.
“The 2005 Magellan Awards drew an unprecedented
number of entries representing a broad range of industries
and organizational sizes,” said Tyson Heyn, APR, LACP
Principal. “Winners demonstrated a laser focus on communications
grounded in creativity and passion, which ultimately helped
message recipients understand and appreciate its relevance
and importance.”
The competition was judged by an impartial
field of communications professionals with expertise in a
broad range of PR functions ranging from corporate, executive,
and internal communications for Fortune 500 organizations
to product, service and non-profit publicity expertise. Of
the nearly 500 entries that were accepted by competition judges,
less than one out of four entries qualified for award recognition.
As many as eight other firms from Indiana entered the 2005
competition - MillerWhite was the only firm to be honored
with the 2005 Magellan Award.
MillerWhite originally created the strategic
communications plan in September 2005 for Indianapolis client
JM Capital in an effort to help the Indianapolis financial
advisory firm complete and announce a significant merger transaction.
“I believed in the campaign’s strength and witnessed
the positive results that were generated in the Indy market,
but I had no idea the plan would be honored alongside competitors
like Sony Ericsson, American Airlines, Palm, Inc. and The
National Restaurant Association,” said Chris Jefferson,
MillerWhite’s Director of Business Development and Public
Relations Specialist. “The honor caps off an exciting
25th Anniversary year for MillerWhite and validates the strength
of our public relations offering within the integrated approach
to marketing.”
“An increasing number of clients are
recognizing the benefits of a strong public relations campaign
in establishing their brand among key publics,” commented
Bill White, MillerWhite partner. “An award like The
Magellan illustrates how effective a strategic communications
plan can be in laying a foundation for building a brand with
an integrated marketing approach.”
During the last 25 years, MillerWhite has
serviced accounts throughout Indiana, the Midwest, across
the U.S. and in international markets. The firm represents
the nation’s leading energy services firm - Ameresco,
as well as Clabber Girl Corporation, Union Hospital, Dorsett
Mitsubishi, Raybestos Powertrain and Herff Jones. MillerWhite
has retained a working relationship with 70% of its client
base for 10 years or longer. The firm has been awarded more
than 25 awards and honors in 2005.
MillerWhite provides integrated marketing/research,
public relations, advertising and interactive media services
to its clients from offices in Terre Haute and Indianapolis.
