Indiana marketing firm tops national
competition to win ISU magazine transition project
June 8, 2010
Indianapolis-based MillerWhite Marketing will be leading
the effort to redesign and enhance Indiana State University
Magazine. MillerWhite, one of five firms on the university’s “short
list” for the project, was selected over a Texas firm,
two Washington, D.C. firms and another Indiana firm, all
of which specialize in higher education marketing.
Tara Singer, ISU’s assistant vice president for communications
and marketing, said, “We’re excited to be working
with MillerWhite on this project, which will significantly
redesign and enhance our existing online version of the magazine
and accomplish the transition to an online-only publication.
MillerWhite will be developing the back-end programming to
tie to the university’s current database, transitioning
the current readership to the eMagazine format, and redesigning
the publication.”
Over the years, MillerWhite has built a body of expertise
with institutions of higher education and support organizations,
helping them connect with their various publics and audiences.
Besides ISU, these include the ISU Foundation, the Indiana
Student Financial Aid Association/College Goal Sunday, Ivy
Tech State College, Learn More Indiana, Rose-Hulman Institute
of Technology, and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.
MillerWhite member/owner Bill White said the firm is excited
to be assisting ISU with its magazine transition to an electronic
format. “We’re also happy that the university
chose to keep this work within the state,” he said. “Recently
we’ve seen activity in the state pick up as we’ve
added several new clients.”
Some of the firm’s newer clients include Eco Parking
Lights, an Indianapolis manufacturer; RANAC, supplier of
healthcare software; and Acorn Distributors, a regional distributor
of foodservice and janitorial products, White said.
